Thousands of organizations and Presidential Proclamations set aside specific days, weeks and months for political, cultural and historical events and causes. Many of these occasions offer you an opportunity to promote your business, organization or product.
July July 16th is National Ice Cream Day: Hold a good old fashioned ice cream social for employees or clients or customers complete with take home imprinted bowls
Send out ice cream scoops with copy something like, "You won't need this to scoop up (sales, savings, clients – whatever is appropriate to your promotion). We hope you'll enjoy using it on July 16th, National Ice Cream Day."

Invite local police to demonstrate car seat safety; firemen to demonstrate fire hazards specifically related to babies, EMTs to demonstrate some baby first aid and local physicians to talk about food safety, choking hazards, etc. Again, send them home with reminders of safety issues and who brought them the information.
